Concept mapping is a study technique that helps a student, using what he
or she already knows, to organize new information in a way that is meaningful to the student. This strategy also helps students develop organizational and analytical skil
ls. The map itself consists of hierarchically organized boxes with single concepts inside, with the boxes connected by linking words that help describe the relationships among concepts.
